I’m Samantha Preston, the acupuncturist at Good Medicine Acupuncture. I hold my master’s degree in acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute), and am licensed to practice acupuncture through the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture.

I came to acupuncture in 2007 without a diagnosis or problem in mind. I was instantly hooked, and have been in treatment ever since. I was surprised to find symptoms that I didn’t think warranted attention, things I had gotten used to, getting better or disappearing altogether. Acid reflux became very rare and predictable. I didn’t have any more tension headaches for at least three years. My moods were improved and on an even keel.

In 2009 I took a two month break from my job waiting tables and went to the mountains. Alone on a mountaintop, I decided I would become an acupuncturist. A few months later I started my first classes.

I love my job. I’ve seen amazing things happen in my treatment room and I love seeing people leave feeling better than when they arrived. This is powerful medicine.
